Cheesy Cream of Chicken Dumplings

K, this one was pretty tasty, but I think it could have used more spices and herbs. But it wasn't necessarily bland either. Let me warn you now though: you will want to have side dishes with this main course because it won't fill you up....unless you eat like 4 of them. Heehee!

Ingredients:
1 cubed chicken breast
1 can crescent rolls
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 cup of milk
cheddar cheese

So, here's what you do.
  • Make the soup just as it directs on the can. Use milk instead of water, as it makes the soup more creamy and it just tastes better with everything else.
  • Next step is to take the individual triangles of roll dough and wrap them around some of the cubed chicken and sprinkle some cheese inside. Make sure to pinch all the sides shut.
  • Next, place the rolls in a 9x13 pan, like you would cookies (meaning spread them out). Take the soup and pour it over the rolls.
  • Then you sprinkle the whole top with cheese.
  • Bake it in the over at 350 for 25-30 mins or until the rolls become golden.

Sausage Cream Cheese Rolls

So there are two different ways I make these. They both have the same recipe, but different construction methods that I use.

Recipe:
1 roll of sausage
1 package of cream cheese
1 roll of crescent roll dough

Cook the sausage and mix together with softened cream cheese....

The first method is simply spreading out the mixture onto individual crescent triangles and then rolling it up. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 375° for about ten mintues or until golden brown.

The second method I use is super similar to the first. Instead of using the individual triangles from the dough, I press them all together. I then spread the mixture across it and then roll the whole thing up in one big loaf. (Or you could always make it calzone style, if you like.) Then you seal the sides and cook at 375° for about ten minutes or until golden brown.

*Disclaimer: Some people don't like the flavor of just cream cheese and sausage. Some various ways to change this up for more of a kick are as follows:
  • Use a hot flavored sausage
  • Add jalapenos or chilies
  • Use an herb or chive flavored cream cheese
